WRITTEN QUESTIONS

A period of not more than fifteen minutes shall be allowed at each ordinary meeting for questions submitted by a member of the public.

The question will be answered without discussion. The person who asked the question may ask one relevant supplementary question, which shall be put and answered without discussion. The person to whom a question, or supplementary question, has been put may decline to answer it. 

The following written questions have been received from members of the public.

(i) Discretionary Housing Payments – Kiah Garrett-Gotch

At the last (Housing & New Homes) committee meeting (14.3.18) the Chairperson, in response to a question, stated that “Discretionary Housing Payments are funded through government grant which was £1.133m in 2017/18”. The Council is allowed to top up this fund. Could the committee provide details of the annual budget allocated by the Council each year since the fund was introduced and how much of this allocation has been spent. Could figures also be provided as to the maximum allowed from council funds under the DWP formula?
